Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Monkey Toe Hostel in Chiang Mai, I was impressed by the blend of great value and comfort. Located near the old town and a vibrant street food market, this hostel offers both accessibility and local flavor. The spacious rooms are equipped with air conditioning and privacy curtains, ensuring a restful night's sleep. I appreciated the cleanliness, with meticulous details like plastic pillowcases enhancing hygiene. The modest breakfast, featuring fresh fruits, toast, and coffee, was satisfactory for a quick morning pick-me-up. There's a shared kitchen, which is an excellent option for those wanting to prepare their own meals. The staff is notably friendly, creating an inviting atmosphere that made me feel at home, even after just one night. They were quick to offer assistance and remembered guests' names, adding a personal touch that enhances the experience. While the hostel may not boast luxury amenities, it provides excellent value for budget travelers seeking a friendly environment and a convenient location. For my next trip to Chiang Mai, Monkey Toe will definitely be my go-to choice for sustainable and enjoyable travel.
